Overview of the GenoFAB automation platform

Increasingly, laboratory operations depend on comptuational operations and operations subcontracted to third parties. In this context, it is no longer possible to automate laboratory processes without taking into considerations the computational steps and the supply chain transactions that affect the outcome of the experimental steps performed by your team in their own lab.

The GenoFAB Automation Platform provides an inclusive framework to coordinate all the steps that determine the success of laboratory process.

For example, many projects involve the design of an expression vector in software (data). The output of the design step is ordered from a gene synthesis company (supply chain). The synthetic DNA fragments received from the gene synthesis company are then assembled in hours to make a library of functional expression vectors (lab). These plasmids are then sent to a sequencing facility (supply chain) and sequencing data are are processed in specialized bioinformatics software(data). Meanwhile, the plasmids are used in house to collect functional data (lab). They are also sent to collaborators to collect additional data (supply chain). Data collected in house and data collected by collaborators are analyzed (data). The outcome of the analysis are used to design a new set of improved expression vectors (data).
