Plasmid onboarding
Plasmid onboarding
Send your plasmids to GenoFAB so that we can purify them for you and use them as starting material to make new plasmids. You can also send your plasmids as a backup of your own storage.
Volume discounts: 10% for 24 plasmids. 20% for 96 plasmids.

Plasmid onboarding process
Step 1: Place your order
Tell us how many plasmids you need to onboard.
Tell us what biological material you will send. You can send glycerol stocks or plasmid solutions.
Tell us if you want us to sequence your plasmids. Plasmid sequencing is highly recommended.
Step 2: Shipping
We will send you a box with a prepaid return label.
Ship your samples back to GenoFAB.
Step 3: Sample preparation
Upon receipt of your samples, we will record them in your GenoFAB account.
Glycerol stocks: If you send glycerol stocks, we will prepare new glycerol stocks for backup. We will also perform a mini prep for backup and to ensure that we can purify your plasmids.
Plasmid solutions: If you send plasmid solutions, we will transform them into competent cells, prepare glycerol stocks, and perform minipreps.
Step 4: Sequence verification
If you request to have your plasmids verified by sequencing, we will sequence your plasmids with Nanopore and Illumina sequencers to collect two complementary data sets with different types of sequencing errors.
We run the two datasets through our proprietary assembly pipeline to generate your plasmid physical sequence. Areas of uncertainty are confirmed by Sanger sequencing.
Results of the sequence verification are uploaded in the GenoFAB application.
