Whole Plasmid Sequencing
Whole Plasmid Sequencing Services
GenoFAB provides state-of-the-art whole plasmid sequencing services to ensure the accuracy and structural integrity of your plasmid constructs. By combining multiple sequencing technologies, we deliver data tailored to meet the specific quality standards of your research or production environment.
Our Sequencing Capabilities:
- Nanopore Sequencing: Offers a rapid overview of plasmid structure, identifying large-scale features and structural variants.
- Illumina Sequencing: Achieves base-level precision for most plasmid sequences, providing reliable and detailed results.
- Sanger Sequencing: Complements Nanopore and Illumina data by resolving challenging regions that NGS technologies cannot accurately sequence.
Proprietary Bioinformatics Pipeline
All sequencing data are processed through GenoFAB’s proprietary bioinformatics tools, delivering:
- Accurate plasmid assembly.
- Comprehensive error correction.
- Unmatched sequence validation for high-confidence results.
Applications:
Users can customize sequencing workflows to suit various quality control needs:
- Structural Verification: For research-grade plasmids.
- Base-Level Validation: For plasmids used in cGMP environments and other critical applications.

Plasmid sequencing process
Step 1: Place your order
Tell us how many plasmids you need to send us.
Let us know what technology you want us to sequence your plasmid. We can use Nanopore, Illumina, and Sanger. Sanger sequencing is reserved for finishing plasmid sequences that present ambiguities after collecting Nanopore and Illumina data.
Tell us what biological material you will send. You can send us a plasmid solution that is ready for sequencing. Or you can send a glycerol stock and let us extract the plasmid. Finally, you can send a small quantity of plasmid that will be used to transform bacteria before preparing the plasmid solution.
Finally, you can specify that you want to keep the plasmid for future use.
Step 2: Shipping
We will send you a box with a prepaid return label.
Ship your samples back to GenoFAB.
Step 3: Sample preparation
Upon receipt of your samples, we will record them in your GenoFAB account.
Glycerol stocks: We will prepare the plasmid solution if you send glycerol stocks.
Plasmid solutions: If you send less than 2.5 ug of plasmid in solution, we will transform the plasmid into competent cells and perform minipreps.
Step 4: Sequencing
We will perform the sequencing operations you specified and analyze the data using our proprietary bioinformatics pipeline.
Results of the sequence verification are uploaded in the GenoFAB application.
Step 5: Storage
If you ask us to keep the plasmid, we will add the plasmid to your private plasmid repository. We will add two samples of the plasmid solution and two glycerol stocks in different freezers. Plasmids in your repository can be used for preparing plasmid solutions, as starting material to make new plasmids, or simply as a backup storage.
